Horses in Training
I currently am spending most of my time working with 9 weanlings and yearlings. Here’s a picture and a bit of info about each of them. They are all wonderful horses and are currently available for adoption in North Texas.
Blossom
Blossom is a young chestnut filly. She was a little shy about people at the beginning, but is really starting to come out of her shell. She is making great strides working on haltering and leading.
Cricket Cricket is a cute little paint colt. He’s calm and relaxed during training and is a super fast learner. He’s currently working on ground work, including backing and exercises for giving to pressure.
DoolittleDoolittle is a flashy chestnut paint colt. He is extremely friendly and loves being petted and brushed. Doolittle is currently working on leading and groundwork.
MoodyMoody had a hard start in life as an orphan, unwanted after his mother died. Tilde’s mother, who was rescued at the same time, adopted him as her own. He’s an outgoing, friendly little guy and is doing great with the beginning of his training.
ShimmerShimmer is a gorgeous buckskin filly. She was shy at first, but is turning into a total lovebug! She is starting to learn about halters and groundwork and is quite an eager pupil!
SinatraSinatra is a gorgeous bay paint with minimal white. He had some training prior to being rescued, and already knew leading and some groundwork. He loves attention and will leave the herd to come get brushed or scratched.
SuedeSuede is the most outgoing of our three youngest colts. He is curious and adventurous and always wants to be part of whatever’s going on. He quickly learned about halters and is currently beginning leading and groundwork.
TexTex is still learning to trust people, but has made great strides so far! We’re working on him getting more comfortable being approached by people and being touched and brushed.
TildeTilde was very shy for the first months he was at the rescue. He only recently has become comfortable around people. He is now getting more curious about people and enjoys being brushed or getting a good belly rub.
