Definitely!

Animal trainers need to be willing to work with people to.

And not just trainers, but vets and other animal care professionals. Many people get into vet med because they want to work with the animals. Vet care (especially small animal) is all about people skills and working with people these days.

There are so many animal trainers that are not good with people. I was one of them! Fortunately, early in my career, one of my mentors took me aside and said, “you are magic with animals but you suck with people–need to work on that to be successful.”

Now, many, many years later (something like 30 years or so) I've had people comment on it. Now, personally I think it is an ongoing process but if you are going to be a professional than the human relating piece is a must.
