		<description>Thank you for the tips, I have really been trying to train my dogs, and I thought they were responding to the verbal cues but I think that they are more intune with the hand guestures I am making.  Thanks for the clarification.</description>

		<description>Very interesting. I&#039;ve thought about this with my horses. For example when I ask my horse to shake hands I want him to respond to the verbal &quot;shake hands&quot; - not when I accidently drop a brush infront of him and reach to pick it up (I could end up with a hoof in the head). But other times I do want him to respond to only my body language. For instance I have taught him to say &quot;No&quot; by shaking his head. I don&#039;t want to have to use a verbal command for this trick because it ruins the fun of the trick - I want him to shake his head when I subtly tilt the top of a crop towards his ear.

I think its a great idea to test each &quot;verbal&quot; cue by not moving at all. Video taping yourself would probably help too. I wonder how many weird quirky movements I make each time I ask for a specific thing from my horse.</description>
