The winner of the giveaway is: Renee Grandinetti

I loved reading your comments about how dogs and other animals have changed your life. Here are my three favorite comments.

I actually had a pet save my life when he sensed danger in the room I was in, he continued to refuse to enter the room and make as much noise as possible, I got up to see what was wrong with him and the ceiling in the room I was in collapsed. I’m alive today because of that pet!

Your review reminded me of my dog Jessie. She taught a neighbor to not be afraid of dogs just by being who she was. She would crawl up to the little kids on her side so they wouldn’t be afraid and would pet her. Now they have dogs of their own! This past year my horse has been a wonderful teacher for me about who I am. When I’m having trouble with him I really have to look at myself. I also learned that he has the right to his thoughts and feelings and just because I want to give him a hug doesn’t mean that he wants one. My cat has also been grateful that I’ve learned this lesson.

My dogs have taught me patience. They have also taught me to accept that every being on the face of this earth has personality and a sense of self. Sometimes you have to work with that personality rather than change them. They’re a lot like people and each is beautiful and precious in their own right way.

A big thanks again to all who entered!
I will be doing another book giveaway toward the end of this month, so stay tuned.
