Here comes one of my favorite times of the year

It’s mid-March. That means that it is time for the 7th annual Art and Science of Animal Training Conference at the University of North Texas. The conference will be held this weekend in Denton, Texas.

I’ve attended this conference every year that it has been held and it is definitely one of my favorite events of the year! The conference is always full of fascinating lectures about animal behavior, animal training, and behavior analysis.  In addition, I get to see and catch up with many of my animal trainer friends from around the country and even around the world. We always have many wonderful discussions that go late into the night.

This year, we’ll have Dr. Stanley Weiss as the keynote speaker and, as well, additional talks by Ken Ramirez, Alexandra Kurland, Phung Luu, Steve White, Al Kordowski, Steve Aibel, and Bob Bailey. You can see the full program here

If you’re curious to learn more about the conference, I have notes from most of the past conferences on the Conference and Clinic Notes page of my site.  I’ll also be sharing notes from this year’s conference on my blog in the coming weeks and you’ll be able to find them on conference notes page.

If you want to follow along during the actual conference, I encourage you to follow the updates that I’ll be posting throughout the day on my CheerioTrainer Twitter account and on my StaleCheerios.com Facebook page

If you’ll be at the conference on Saturday, I hope we’ll be able to say “hi!” I’d love to get to meet you and talk to you.
