Chewie’s Diary Week 87: Green cones

I recently acquired more traffic cones!

They are bright green, and I have lots of fun ideas for how Chewie and I can use them in our training.

Chewie walks between an orange cone and two green cones.

However, first, I needed to introduce Chewie to the new cones.

I did not think Chewie would be afraid of the green cones. But, I thought she might like some time to investigate them, before we started using them as part of our more formal training sessions.

So, one day recently, I scattered some of the green cones around the barn. I also included some of our familiar orange cones.

Then, I meandered back and forth in the barn, letting Chewie choose what she wanted to do.

At first, Chewie did want to sniff the cones and check them out. But, before too long, she was more interested in getting some scratches and engaging with me.

Chewie sniffs one of our new cones.
Sniffing the same cone, but from a different angle!

I am looking forward to using our new cones in our upcoming training sessions.

They will also be super useful for some of our horse agility tasks!

Chewie says: “Scratches are better than cones!”
