At this year’s Art and Science of Animal Training Conference, Bob Bailey and Marian Breland Bailey were awarded the Anderson Award for their contributions to the field of animal training.
If you’ve read any of my previous posts about Bob Bailey, you are probably aware that Bob is an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced trainer who has been training animals for decades. Bob also knows a lot about the history of positive animal training, as he helped create a lot of this history!
After receiving the award, Bob Bailey gave a great speech. In the speech he discussed many of the experiences and people who helped shape his career and also much about the early history of Keller Breland and Marian Breland Bailey. I really enjoyed Bob’s speech, as I find the history of animal training to be quite fascinating, and I also always really enjoy listening to Bob speak.
Now, if you weren’t able to attend the conference, The Art and Science of Animal Training has made the entire speech available for free on its website. You can watch the trailer for the speech below.
Or, visit this page to watch Bob Bailey’s entire 35-minute lecture.
When you watch the full video, also be sure to check out the links section that is underneath the video. There are some links there to some really interesting articles and websites with even more information about the fascinating history of animal training.
