Big news!
ORCA (The Organization for Reinforcement Contingencies with Animals) has announced the date for their 5th annual Art and Science of Animal Training Conference, which will be held on February 2, 2013 at the University of North Texas.
You can check out the announcement on the ORCA website. To stay informed, you can join the ORCA mailing list or follow ORCA on facebook. More details will be coming soon!
I’m currently a graduate student at the University of North Texas. I’ve attended this conference every year and have helped with the planning for the last several years. This is one of my all time favorite conferences. I always learn SO much and leave with plenty of ideas for things to try, as well as ways to improve my own training.
I have notes on my site from the 2009, 2010, and 2012 conferences. You can also check out this interview with ORCA adviser, Dr. Jesus Rosales-Ruiz for a bit more info about the history of the conference and how it came about.
What a fantastic site! I love that you are sharing positive reinforcement training methods like this. Just fabulous
Thanks for stopping by! I’m glad you are enjoying the site so far.
Do you do have a blog? If so, send me the link, I love connecting with other animal-loving bloggers. 🙂
cheers,
Mary
I have marked my calendar! The conference sounds interesting.
I bet you would enjoy Susan Schneider’s keynote speech! (And the rest of the conference as well.) Maybe we can figure out a way for you to come.
cheers,
Mary
