On (almost) Wordless Wednesdays,
I often feature rescued animal in north Texas.
Last week I posted about Roy, a good looking dog who was looking for his forever home. Well, guess, what? Roy found a home last week! You can see a picture of Roy snuggling with his new dad on the Extreme Mutt Makeover facebook page.
Today, I want you to meet Mouse. She’s the star of this week’s wordless Wednesday post. Mouse is a young quarter horse mare who was recently returned to the rescue I work with. Unfortunately, Mouse’s family moved and could no longer keep her.
Mouse is named for the marking on her face that look like a mouse running up the side of her face. This sweet girl loves attention! Mouse loves to be scratched and brushed and always comes over to say “hi” if we are in the pasture. Mouse has been trained for riding and has some trail riding experience. She is currently available for adoption in north Texas. Check out the rescue’s website for more information about Mouse.

Good luck mouse, I hope you find a good and loving home.
Thanks for stopping by! We hope Mouse finds her forever home soon, too!
Woof! Woof! Golden Hello MOUSE. Happy WW. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
I really like Mouse! Hope she finds a forever home soon! I always think it is really sad especially for horses – they very seldom have only one home in their lifetime.
Hi Blueberry’s human,
Thanks for stopping by. Horses do often end up having multiple homes. This can work out fine for some horses, but it doesn’t for others and they end up unwanted in rescues. (Well, the lucky ones end up in rescues.)
Unfortunately, older horses or injured horses often get dumped because they are no longer “usable.” Many people don’t regard horses as “part of the family” the way many people do now with dogs. Once the horse can’t be used for riding, it is considered useless by many. 🙁

Mouse is beautiful! I hope she finds a wonderful home!
She is a beauty now! She was kind of an awkward looking youngster, I should post some photos of her from a few years back. :)(She was adopted out 2 years ago but sadly had to come back to the rescue.)
