On (almost) Wordless Wednesdays,
I often feature rescued animal in north Texas.
Remember Lilli, who was competing in the Extreme Mutt Makeover? I attended the final competition this past weekend. It was awesome seeing how much the shelter dogs had learned, with just six weeks of training.
Many of the dogs from the competition have already been adopted. (Yay!) However, a few of them are still waiting to find their furr-ever homes. Roy is one of the dogs who still needs a home. Roy is a young, loveable pit bull who originally came from Plano Animal Services. He loves playing in the lake and playing with other dogs. And, at the end of the day, he loves to curl up with you and snuggle!
Roy is available for adoption in north Texas. You find out more information about Roy on his facebook page. His facebook page is also a great way to get in contact with his trainer and foster mom, Emily, if you are interested in adopting. Even if you can’t adopt, I encourage you to visit his facebook page and share his picture with your facebook friends. Let’s help Roy find an awesome home!

Me too, Christie!
Roy currently has over 1000 fans on his facebook page, so hopefully social media can help find him his furr-ever home.

I saw this picture on Blog Hop and I had to come here to tell you that he’s gorgeous!
What a great-looking boy! We’ll purr hard for a forever home for him soon!
Roy did find a forever home!! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
cheers,
Mary
Why call Roy a “Pit Bull”? He looks to e exactly as I would imagine a Whippet/Bull Terrier cross — Especially with that couluuring and thise ears!
And as such he would even be allowed to be imported into Australia 🙂
Hi Jenny,
Good question. I’ve meant to reply sooner to your comment, but lost track of time this past week.
Anyhow, I called Roy a ‘pit bull’ in this blog post because when I met him at the Extreme Mutt Makeover event, that is how he was referred to during the competition.
Unfortunately, though, there is a lot of prejudice in the US about ‘pit bulls,’ even though, like you imply, a lot of mutts can look similar to a pit bull but perhaps be a different combination of breeds. There was an illustration going around facebook recently, don’t know if you saw it, that had dogs that “looked” like pit bulls, but that had been DNA tested as completely different mixes.
cheers,
Mary
He looks like a wonderful and happy dog. Just look at his expressive face! Someone is going to become a real lucky fur parent soon!
Oh what a handsome fellow!! I’ve liked his page and will share his story with my friends – hope it helps him find his very own forever home very soon.
Thanks so much, Leslie, for spreading the word. I’m happy to report that Roy has found his forever home. 🙂
cheers,
Mary
Awesome! It’s always so great when we get to hear about the happy ending. Best wishes in your new home, Roy!
