Did you see my review earlier in the week of Lisa J. Edwards’ new book, A Dog Named Boo? If you’re an animal lover, Lisa’s book about her therapy dog, Boo, will warm your heart and make you want to keep reading until the very last page! Boo is an unlikely hero, but Lisa weaves a wonderful story about his journey from rescued underdog to one of the country’s top therapy dogs.
Now, my lucky readers, you can win your very own copy of A Dog Named Boo! The book’s publisher, Harlequin, has been kind enough to give me a copy to giveaway to one lucky reader of the StaleCheerios blog.

DOGS GIVE CHILDREN A SENSE OF SECURITY IN A STRANGE WAY
We bought a dog very unexpectedly at a banquet. It was the best thing we’ve ever done. He’s wonderful.
I’m 77 now and believe me if it wasn’t for the dogs I wouldn’t be getting up early each morning. They give me reason to get up and things to think about beside my health.
They are my babies!!!
yes my rescue chihuahua has changed my life so much!
My puppygirl has become my best friend, and helps me not be so lonely.
I have seen dogs help with lonliness. thank you!
Yes I absolutely have owned and come in come in contact with animals that changed my life. Especially my child hood dogs and cat… I loved them so much and miss them too
I believe our pets are very sensitive to their owners moods and feelings and always offer us their unconditional love and comfort.

My dogs have taught me patience. They have also taught me to accept that every being on the face of this earth has personality and a sense of self. Sometimes you have to work with that personality rather than change them. They’re a lot like people and each is beautiful and precious in their own right way.
Your review reminded me of my do Jessie. She taught a neighbor to not be afraid of dogs just by being who she was. She would crawl up to the little kids on her side so they wouldn’t be afraid and would pet her. Now they have dogs of their own!
This past year my horse has been a wonderful teacher for me about who I am. When I’m having trouble with him I really have to look at myself. I also learned that he has the right to his thoughts and feelings and just because I want to give him a hug doesn’t mean that he wants one. My cat has also been grateful that I’ve learned this lesson.
I went through a miscarriage and then a divorce, and a few months later I found a puppy on petfinder. He truly is my best friend, he makes me smile everyday. He gave me something to live for when I felt that my life was over. He is almost 7 now, and still just a daily blessing.
My dog has given my daughter a sense of love, and compassion. She’s more sensitive because of her.
When I was a teenager I brought home a dog which brought a lot of heart to our troubled family. Somehow she brought us closer together. She lived 17 years.

I can’t imagine my life without my lab Sadie…she is my best friend and comforts me in times of need 🙂
yes, bailey our rescue dog has changed my life.
Since my divorce, the house would be really quiet and lonely when the kids are at their mom’s.

I actually had a pet save my life when he sensed danger in the room I was in, he continued to refuse to enter the room and make as much noise as possible, I got up to see what was wrong with him and the ceiling in the room I was in collapsed. I’m alive today because of that pet! Dorothy Campbell
